A couple of days ago, all of a sudden the following happened:
* Firefox was not anymore my default browser. I made it my default again.
* After that, I opened IE (I still use occasionally) and a message popped up that IE was no longer the default browser (but I know for a fact that I had disabled that message years ago).
* I also noticed that I have inexplicably lost many links from my Firefox bookmarks
* Firefox Homepage had been lost.
I easily fixed all that, but I wondered how it came to pass.
I thought about it and the only even that came to my mind is that I had downloaded a lot of critical updates from MS update.
Is that a reasonable (if infuriating) explanation? or something else is going on?
I have FF2, IE6 and WinXP

i download the updates too, and my ie was the default browser. result:
ie told me was not the default browser, if i want to set it.
except for this, i have firefox too, and no changes there.. -
Have you done a virus/adware/spyware scan just to double check?
