So for some reason i cant get on MSN i get this error message
its meant to be something about some binary files or something that are missing
i have tried all the options i have found but none work
    i am running Win7 64bit

Any ideas, i have tried to uninstall it - except that its not in the programs list
and when i try to install it it says that it is already installed

    Anyone Have Any Idea?

I'm not entirely sure, I think Msoft bought rights off Ninemsn. But, I think MSN Messenger is dif to Windows Live Messenger. Apparently yes it is dead/or died  I didn't quite get the whole story, but that's what everyone is saying, I haven't been on it for ages though.

EDIT: Oh wait, I think it wasn't really dead, just being arrogant not showing anyone as online.. Hmm.

I Googled the Error code, and it's talking about Windows Media Player

Ohhhh, That would explain it then! LOL. Try a Third Party uninstaller to get rid of it completely, like Revo Uninstaller, then try it again.

    EDIT: or try this.

Hmmm, That may be a true statement.

Maybe try an alternative to WLM. As you got me dumb-founded. Or maybe someone else has a solution, LOL.

Yeah, something isn't right. If Revo cannot find anything, then it can't be there, but yet, the Installer is saying there is? Hmm, you can try ZapMessenger.

BTW, Sorry that I'm giving you all this software to install!

i will give that a shot, something has to be going on.
Revo cant find anything but the installer still thinks that it is installed
i heard soemthing about a possible fix using a .cab file
but everywhere that had it the link to the file has died

It worked! thanks alot, that Zapmessenger worked, it removed what ever was stopping me from reinstalling, and now it works again thanks so much!

I've been trying to get my Windows Live Messenger to work all day. All of the command prompts and downloading service packs didn't work. What happened was, when cleaning out my laptop, I deleted a Windows Live Essential component. Try installing the essentials again, after doing so, Windows Live FINALLY started up for me. Hope this helps someone!
