    Hello,

I'm looking for a light-weight MSN Messenger Alternative. It must have Webcam and Voice Conference support.

    Thanks

Are MSN messenger and Windows Live messenger the same thing? I think they just call it windows live now...

Tried Trillian, the webcam and audio fonctions barely work, not even on my local network....
IBO : Yeah I did, but it's still very cluttered and refused to install MSN 8.5 and current version keeps telling me : You need to update.. and it got on my nerves..

Ahh, sorry about that. That is currently the only other thing I knew of that had video chat and such that you didn't already try.

    Hello,

I can't update to WLM 8.5 because I need to install some Windows Update Agent. My current version of Windows (some hacked version) has Windows Update completely removed. WLM 8.1 is the last version my Windows supports...

    Thanks

Well uninstall WLM (your hack version..why would you hack WLM anyway?) completely from your registry and do a clean install then add the patch highlighted above or g with yahoo messenger don't they have an add on or some sort of feature where u can add your WLM contacts to Yahoo messenger. I use the latest version of WLM with the patch and have all my Yahoo contacts with my WLM ones so i only use one messenger.

Look my request is very very simple :
All I want is a program, that works with the MSN protocol and supports VIDEO and AUDIO conference. Also, its need to be light-weight...

    Thanks

Am afraid that you have to wait for a while. Heard something is going with pidgin-av, earlier this year. However I'm afraid that microsoft giving up their (ad-support) messenger just yet.

Found that Windows Messenger (remember that thing that came with Original XP) is still being supported by Microsoft as an application for Buisness users. I tried it myself and its works pretty well.

Thanks for your support people !!!

Yes MSN is obsessed with forcing you to upgrade. After a few months following a new version release, you can't use an old version to sign in. MSN used to be about chatting, and video/audio conferencing. Now they mess it up with teenager type features like nudge/winks/etc. It's filled up with ads, and its really cluttered and heavy. I'm just happy that Microsoft Supports the old Windows Messenger (not Windows Live Messenger)

www.meebo.com, you can voice chat, video chat, games everything, includes msn, gtalk, aim, and yahoo. and all within your browser no need for a download.

Eww, I tried yahoo messenger once and the installation was filled with forced bloatware and junk. I told it not to run at startup but it does anyway. Had to uninstall Yahoo mail and even after the uninstall I had to go delete files left from it. It sucked.

The voice chat worked great though.

    I don't see it here.

I don't think Pidgin supports audio/video chat either.
