How do you uninstall MSN Messenger? OR do you just remove it using msconfig from the startup.

I think you can remove it from add/remove programs from control panel.

You are talking about Windows Messenger.

The Thread is about MSN Messenger which can be removed through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

They have the same function but are different messengers :).

To disable it completely, it takes a simple registry edit. If you don't know how to safely edit the registry, don't do it!

To disable MSN Messenger, go into regedit,

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft

    Create key: Messenger

    Create key: Client

    Create DWORD: PreventRun

    Modify DWORD value to: 1

Exit regedit and MSN Messenger is now disabled!
