Is there a Windows Version(Vista) of Spaces for Mac? Was using it on my friends laptop, and it seems it could be very useful for my Vista laptop.

There are tonnes of apps. Search google and you'll find at least 25 different apps.
The one I use is bosskey. It's great for hiding unwanted things on your computer from your boss.

BossKey isn't what I want. I want basically "4 desktops" or 4 screens like Mac Spaces...I did Google it and got a couple of weird sites. Was seeing if anyone on the forum has an EQUAL equivalent that is legit.

My bad. I was thinking of magic boss key which I've used in the past. Boss Key is different. Will try them both, and see which I like.

Boss Key was fail. However, Vista and XP Virtual Desktop is win. Uses hefty amount of resources though, other than that, it does what i want. Thank you very much. +rep

It hid all my windows including task bar and i pressed the hotkey again and it wouldn't show. Had to log off then sign back in to get to my desktop again.

Will give Microsoft's version a try later.

Um... you have to "set" the hotkey first. YOu have to get used to it. :>
BTW.. MS version is the based on the same concept of the virtual desktop software that you're using right now.

Yeah i did apply the hotkeys, it "worked" in a sense it moved to the next desktop but wouldn't move back to the original desktop with the appropriate hotkey...
Yeah, but the MS version claims no bugs and low resources. I've experienced a few crashes so far and it uses a decent amount of resources.

Microsoft Desktop hardly uses any resources at all. Very simple and effective...however it is a little to simple. Can't switch a window to a different screen. If not on desktop 1, can't use launchy or rocketdock.

Can't decide which one to use...if there was a Vista & XP Virtual Desktops that uses less resources, that would be perfect. Or a Microsoft Desktops with a little more functionality.

Anyone else use or know anything different?

i like the microsoft desktop one! It uses very little resources on my p8600, 3gb system.

kinda reminds me of the ubuntu screen thing, but the ubuntu one is better.

Thanks for the link to that codeplex project! It's exactly what I was looking for. It's got some minor quirks but largely it runs very well.
