I'm going to give Macrium a try. I will make my disk image on an external drive. I will burn the Linux recovery disc. When I go to install this image on a new drive, etc, I have to boot from the Linux cd and then connect the external drive or can I boot with the external drive already connected? And then I follow the tutorial to restore the image? Any help and tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, my existing drive has a recovery partition. Should I image that separately so I will have the option to not use it on a new drive?

I have read about both of them and they are both supposed to be good. I have never used any disc imaging software so I'm open for advice and suggestions.
