Keep in mind i never once installed an os.......

I was reading about vista beta, that though xp u can update to vista.....I think u can upgrade from home to media and so forth from xp.

My question is NOT does win xp pro/media center install on a mac, but since only xp home can install with a full version, can u then use an upgrade disc thru autoplay while in win xp home already installed on yer mac?

Autoplay has nothing to do with it. If the disk doesn't automatically run when you put it in, open the folder for the CD drive and double-click the Autoplay or Setup program, and it should run.

That being said, what do you mean by 'only xp home can install with a full version'.

That would be possible, if boot camp provided the necessities for installing windows vista (drivers and related, which are currently available in boot camp for windows xp sp2 home and professional versions)

that being said, an upgrade from windows xp home or professional would seem plausible, if the respective drivers and rel. where available for your mac hardware.

what i meant was simply u need to buy a full retail version of win xp home or already hav 1, not backup boot discs or upgrade win xp software in order to be able to run it on a mac.
