    Hello,

I have a few computers at home and I'm using outlook to send/receive
my e-mails. The problem is that when I update a contact or add/remove
a contact from one computers outlook then I have to do it to the rest.

Is there a Mail program that will sync all my contacts together so it won't
    matter what computer I'm using?

Contact syncing across multiple clients/devices is a function of Microsoft Exchange. There are some partial workarounds, such as using a mobile device to sync between two computers, but without transitioning to IMAP you wouldn't have the full flexibility or convenience of Exchange. Mail2Web offers a low cost hosted Exchange service which you could use to synchronize your devices and email clients.

Isn't there a program that would have a contact list that I could just save on the network and it would just sync every time I open the mail program?

I sync my contacts with Gmail contacts. I have my Outlook (on 2 computers) and my cellphone (HTC Touch Pro) all synced together. Instructions are found in Gmail help :)

    It's working pretty well.

Are you syncing your Outlook contacts directly with Google? That feature is only available with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook which requires Google Apps Premier Edition (or Google Apps Education Edition). While Google contacts from free Google accounts can be synced OTA with mobile devices, they cannot be synced directly to Outlook without either upgrading to a paid Google account or a third party tool.

One third party tool for contacting syncing with free Gmail accounts is gSyncit though it isn't free. GO Contact Sync, while free, hasn't been updated in a year and fails more often than it works.

Actually I cheat just a little bit and use my phone as a hub that computers sync with.
    :wideeyed:

And it's almost working... got couple contacts mixed together at the moment :p

The problem is different mail providers handle contacts differently. The way Hotmail does contacts is different than gmail which is different than yahoo which is different than AOL or whatever.

To this point you have not stated who you get your email through. As such it's impossible to guess how you may sync your contacts. Outlook favors Exchange and has extensive functionality for talking to Exchange servers including all kinds of syncing and happiness.

I use Hotmail for my email, and the Hotmail contact system is all "in the cloud" so I can connect either through the web client or Windows Live Mail from anywhere and my contacts are always the same. They don't even "sync" per se, as it just pulls down what's stored on the servers.

Time & Chaos Intellect and EssentialPIM do this.

    Among dozens of others.

What you are asking for is a modern PIM with session/client synchronization.

Some of them do the sync natively, some do it via an on-line service like gmail, some of them do it via a third-party application like CompanionLink.

This is where Exchange comes in real handy. It not only syncs contacts, but also your task list, your calendar and folder structure.

Otherwise you are out of luck.

I don't have numbers. I do know I can run two exchange accounts on my Palm Pre, Pandora and still surf the web for the most part.
