Alright so I did a clean install of windows 7 last night and noticed I ran into some pretty major problems once it was installed:

    1. I have no internet connection - not even a wired connection works (all my internet related devices like Ethernet, my wireless card, network controller, pci device, and others have yellow triangles next to them in Device Manager)

    2. Windows isn't recognizing my secondary HD (I have a SSD in the main bay and a HD in my optical drive) EVEN THOUGH IT DID WHEN INSTALLING. - Maybe its because I haven't installed drivers for it yet?

    3. Windows isn't recognzing my display adaptor - max resolution I can use is 1024 x 768 - I have a 1600x900 screen....maybe driver related again?

Out of all these #1 is probably the biggest as I can't access the internet at all. Also before I did the clean install I secure Erased both HD's with Parted Magic. Any help is appreciated as I am afraid I might have to get this fixed by someone and pay :(

I would make sure all of the drivers are installed and up to date. It also depends on the order in which you install the drivers for most hardware. Did you use a drivers CD that came with the laptop when you did the clean install? I am not an expert, so maybe wait for an expert response. Hope everything works out.

I can't install drivers without internet...I have a Resource DVD - whatever that is that came with my PC, but that is it. I can't use that either as none of my USB ports work in Windows because I don't have drivers. Windows needs to make this an easier task -.-

SHould I retry installing windows again?? I am not sure why having the hard drive in the optical bay with the appropriate HD caddy doesnt help as its not my primary drive anyways and I have never had issues with it before is the recommneded way to setting up a dual hard drive setup in this computer.

    sorry didnt explain correctly.
i meant it doesnt help not having an optical bay drive so no way to use the disk.
is the optical bay switchable or can you put the disk drive back in or did you opt for hardrive instead of optical drive.

this is obviously a driver problem. No usb and wired ethernet = your chipset drivers are not installed. I would say start over and install again using a slipstreamed win7 dvd that you will have to make using rt7lite. this will allow you to make a win7 dvd with your drivers already integrated on the install dvd.
    you will need:
    - another computer to work on and create the dvd
    - rt7lite software
    - your laptops drivers
    - your win7 dvd
    - win7 service pack 1 (optional)(downloaded from microsoft).

I am just going to take the HD out and put the optical drive in as I think that will solve a lot of these issues...I will put the secondary HD back in after install

Alright so replacing the HD with the optical drive proved to be pointless as the optical drive kept ejecting the Windows Disk right as I put it in, I ended up just using my portable optical drive again. However, I finally have everything working. All I had to do was simply put all the drivers on a USB Drive from another computer and then put them on my computer -.-

So after much frustration I got everything good and ready to go (for the most part, still have to put HD in...). Well I guess it was a good learning experience haha
