    Making back up system dvds

    can some1 tell me the easiest way to make a recovery dvd for windows vista and windows xp pro?

    i'm doing that now,and for the life of me i can not remember how i know i have done it before,but can not remember how i did it nothing on the serch for it yet. i need to get it done now that i have xp and vista both on this laptop now so if anything happens i can get it all back

    Do you have image files of Windows XP and Windows Vista, or do you h ave them both installed?

    they both are installed from ms os discs xp is on the c drive and vista is on the d drive vista use to be on the c drive but the computer shop put xp on the c drive and vista on the d drive. i do have the recovery cd's from hp but i would rather make new ones so i do not run in to the chance of hp recovery discs putting vista on the c drive and erasing xp

    Just use a disk imaging/cloning utility, such as Acronis True Image, EASEUS Partition Master, or Norton ghost (I think that's the right name). Clone your existing installations, save the image to DVD, and if/when you need it, re-clone the image back onto the hdd.

    Backup to an external hdd as well. I feel like those are safer than discs
