I have tried many methods, such as deleting the bags entries in registry, resetting folder views, and reinstalling Vista. However, the fixes are all temporary.

I can never get Windows Vista Ultimate SP1's folder views to stick. What I mean is say I set it so Fred/Desktop/ is viewed with Large Icons in Windows Explorer. It will stay for a certain amount of time and then, on its own, revert back to its "original view", which is list view. When this reverts, Desktop/ also reverts, along with certain other folders for whom views I have changed.

No 3rd party program is interfering since the only cache cleaning program I have is CCleaner and I've disabled its ability to clean window locations/sizes. Any methods as to making Vista folder views stick once and for all?

    Thanks!

I haven't been successful in this either. It seems that Vista simply does what it wants when it comes to folder views

I get the opposite problem. Mine don't stay and remember on XP, but on Vista they do. And yes my setting is selected to "Remember folder view" or however its worded in CP.
