    Making screen dim when laptop idle on battery

    I have noticed Macbooks have this feature, where the screen gets a bit dimmer (but not completely off) when the system is idle for about half a minute but then when the user touches the mouse or the keyboard, it comes back to its original brightness. Is this possible with Vista or a 3rd party program?

    As far as I know this feature is an Apple exclusive. Kind of sucks because I liked it on my Macbook.

    It's not exclusive to Macs. ThinkPads have power management software that can do this too. Depending on what brand of laptop you have, you may be able to do this. Just check whatever power management software that came with your computer. I don't think there's a setting for it in Windows by default, though.

    Interesting, my Thinkpad never did that. Then again it was an older one.
