My GF's computer crashed and I couldn't save it.I used the restore feature to return it back to factory new.Once I did this,I uninstalled all the crapware, installed all the updates(including SP1),and installed all my anti herpees programs. When I try to do anything on the computer, one of the process maxes out the memory. How do I fix this?I can't do anything on the computer. It just locks up and is completely useless.

The svchost, assuming it's not some malicious program under disguise, is just a system service linking a dynamic library. Something else on your system is generating that memory load.

Does it happen right after boot? Can your narrow it down to some specific program/progress?

Alternatively, use MS official install media to do a fresh install.

I have tried everything here, except a reinstall using the MS link for downloading and reinstalling 7.I have an OEM version of 7 that isn't supported by MS.My key code doesn't jive, when I try to download 7 through MS.I can't get it through Acer, as they direct me back to MS.I'll try for another week before installing Linux.

Sounds more like the O/S you downloaded doesn't match the OEM key. Goes like this you got OEM Home installed and you downloaded Win 7 Pro and the Product Key will not work. Product keys match only the O/S OEM version they came with not what you want to match. If you aren't verifying this then could be another problem.
The ISO must match your Factory OEM O/S installed as well you don't get to download a different version that doesn't match your OEM Product Key.

When I go to MS to download Win 7 Home Premium 64 ,it asks for my product key. When I enter it,it won't accept the key.It states on the page that some OEM keys will not work to download.

Here is a pic of all the process that are running under the svchost.exe that is maxing out my memory and keeping my cpu running at 50%+.

The offending process are highlighted in blue.

Nothing changed.Even after a full shut down and reboot.

Thanks.I haven't received the PM yet.

I got the iso but it's been hid and searching my HD doesn't turn it up.I didn't get the option of saving the file to a specific folder on my HD.

Well,it just got worse. As I stated before,I have an OEM product key.I have done a clean install of Win 7.I tried the product key I have, and it kicked me out.So I skipped that, and finished the install. I went in and tried to activate Win 7.Was kicked out again. So I have 30 days before windows becomes crippled. No big deal tho,as task manager is still showing the memory maxed out, and now the CPU is maxing out.I think this computer is done.

    It's an Acer Aspire 5732Z

This tells me the O/S your downloading doesn't match your Product Key. OEM or Retail Product Keys doesn't matter what matter is the O/S to which they are matched to-if they don't match as I mentioned no amount of downloading a different version will work. I know I done this with a OEM Vista Premium but used the customer Vista Premium Product Key and it activated and worked fine. What you want to do is just download from Windows the ISO that matched your O/S version but if you don't know that then you need to ask your laptop manufacture what O/S it came factory from to download the right ISO O/S from Microsoft to work.

It's the Process tab screen shot with the highest process taking the most RAM is what is need this doesn't tell us much other then what is running.

When unexplained high memory usage happens to systems I'm running or servicing, it tends to be malware, Windows Update, or Windows Search. You can try disabling the process for Windows Update and the Windows Search service to see if that lowers memory usage. If not, I'd consider disconnecting the machine from the internet and running malwarebytes & your antivirus to check.
