Yeah, that trend sucks and needs to stop. Micro$lop probably wants it on the Store so the Windows 7 benchmarks won't make Windows 10 look as sucky as we all know that it is. Windows 7 will kick its digi-butt.

    Solution:
Download Cinebench R20 from Windows store
    Launch App
    Open Task manager,
    Details tab,
    find Cinebench.exe,
    Right click,
    select Open File Location
This will open a “bin” folder
    Copy entire bin folder
You now have a standalone copy of R20

Thank you. I should have waited, LOL. I just wasted time making a Macrium Image of Linux Mint on my laptop, restored my image of Windows 10 so I could download this to make a portable version. Now I don't have to screw with it. I can just restore Linux from my image and say goodbye (again) to Windows 10 on my laptop.

Honestly, Linux Mint is so much better than Windows 10. I played about an hour of Metro Last Light Redux on my laptop last night in my hotel room and it ran just as well on Linux as it does on Windows. Since I don't overclock or bench this thing, Linux does everything I want it to. The only thing I really miss is Outlook. (Thunderbird is a sucky way to manage email.)

    Works good.

Now I need to figure out how to set a custom resolution with Optimus trash, so that I can fit it all in the 1920*1080 screen space without overlapping the render area (invalidates benchmark screenshot).

I tried tagging many more, but the tagging system is weird and I couldn't find half of the people to tag.

Here's my 5820k at stock speeds (I'm in the midst of changing coolers).

Thanks. Well, CB 20 can't run under Linux because its exclusively compiled with UWP in mind and not win32 app.
    I will beat MBP.

Added 1000 to base points + New hardware Tax = New CB20 score. New benchmark to make people forget there's new exploit for Intel chips. Moar scores = More money + Advertisement for MS Store

yep i wonder the same. would have been great if they had kept the same scores as CB15 or at least decreased them again so that an HEDT system would scored something like 500 points. this way they would have room for higher numbers.

I suspect Brother @Vasudev is on point. They HAVE TO provide distractions for the kiddos so they don't figure out that Window 10 is feces and stop using it. Making it a UWP app is further evidence of underlying dishonesty and dishonorable intention on the part of the Redmond Retards. Windows OS X is so filled with cancer and bloat that it cannot compete with Windows 7 or Linux, so having a level playing field highlights their abject incompetence.

Forcing anyone on windows platform never works. They should have made choices for Win32/64 classic app and Metro app(UWP). UWP is really optimised and most modern systems will score best regardless of Optimised OS.
Have you tried 19H1, it seems to be better than production releases. With retpoline I'm losing only 10 points in CB r15 as opposed 50 points in earlier versions.
    Known bugs:
VMware(Dell's branch) won't boot the insider release 19h1 and refuse to open up unless W8.1 compatibility is used. :)

Well, that dual core in the stock list scored a 541, which is a bit higher than the ~280-300 it would have scored in the old benchmark. I do wonder what the actual scaling methods are in R15 and R20.

Guru3d was given a legal threat to take down the zipped file link and asked users to get it from MS Store. MS store now allows 85% revenue to developers.

Yeah, payback time. The benchers made Cinebench as the preferred Cpu benchmarks tool. Of course Micro$oft paid a lot to get exclusively right to offer this <free app> on their Trash Store.

    https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/c...en-offline-after-legal-threat-from-maxon.html

Edit. When will Maxon go after Techpowerup.com? The Portable version is still available for download on their website.... MAXON Cinebench R20.0 Portable

All these newfangled Haswell, and Skylake system posts here!

I ran this on a 3920xm at 4.5 GHz, 1.3V. I can't really run higher without exotic cooling as low 70s is about the highest wattage my cooling can hold for such a long test.

I found that it likes lower memory latency, but does not care for more bandwidth. 9-10-10 2133 was a few points slower than 8-9-9 1866 for some reason. The 1754 run was at 8-9-9 1866, and the 1767 run was at 8-9-9 2000.

Trying to run with elevated process priority would make the system crash when the benchmark starts.

I disabled microcode updates in Windows, so no performance loss from spectre mitigation.

IVB does not seem to fare well in this benchmark. Maybe Win10 is faster? I will have to repair my Win10 install and find out.

If I understand correctly, the intel 3 gen mobile "xm" series(39x0XM) is the equivalent of the series 6xx0HK and 7xx0HK. So, to get comparable results, we need to compare:
3920xm/3940xm with 6820hk/7820hk and higher. Equivalent for 6700hq/7700hq is 3630qm.

    Or am I wrong? [IMG]

Look at the stock 7700K though. I'm at roughly its clocks but it murders me. The 6700hq at stock and stuck at 45W probably clocks around 1 GHz lower and I barely beat it.

I think Windows update cleared off the visibility tag for that button after latest update.

There is a special part of my body they can bend over, pucker up and smooch that rarely ever sees the light of day. Coincidentally, it is also used to deposit the same caliber of waste hosted in the Microfilth UWP slop $tore.

Finally home again. Was a long week. First crack at CB R20 with my desktop.

They can do it better by sideloading full Appx file so that way its portable and ready for testing. I hope j95 can do his magic to give us Appx file to sideload.
