I know that theres been a topic asking people what they use.
I am asking this question again more not about what crashed or not but what features they both have. Ive always used Norton but my new laptop has Mcafee on it with some tie in with Dell that I dont understand yet.
If someone knows an advantage with the Dell tied McAfee program over the regular or Norton, you can let me know about that too.
I just dont know which one to choose.
The McAfee on here is only 90 days and more money to subscribe than going to Costco and getting the non Dell tie in version.

I'd go with the non-tie-in model. As you said it is more expensive to go with the one already on the dell. That is probably due to convience and making money off the uneducated that don't know any better, just like they do with the prices of the RAM upgrades.
