    hey guys,

was wondering how you can make the settings in media center so that it doesn't open up every time you put in a cd?

It sounds like your autoplay is automatically launching Windows Media Center to play your CD. Usually, you're are presented with an option open with various programs but if you selected at one point to ALWAYS open with Windows Media Center, what you're experiencing would happen.

Download TweakUI from Microsoft's Power Toys web page:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Install it, and run. Select "My Computer", then "Autoplay". Then you can either disable autoplay entirely for the drive or edit the handlers. If you disable entirely, Windows won't don anything at all when you insert any type of disc.

To disable autoplay on that CD drive, now select "Drive" and deselect the selection box of your CD drive.

Or, if you just want to tweak the handlers, select "Handlers". I would then look for the setting that says something like Open with Windows Media Center and experiment with it. For example, you might try pressing edit and writing down all the settings, then deleting it to see if that works.

    Good luck
