for some reason, any video i play using WMP11 show up as black and white. Ive tried reinstalling the program, but to no avail. Looking at other posts, i believe the issue has something to do with missing/corrupted codecs. Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,
    BankBen

This could have something to do with missing or wrong-configured Video codecs. Try downloading the KLite Codec pack.

That's actually a cool problem. Try using VLC and see if things work better.

I never realised that missing codec could result in this... Are you sure you didn't change the effects or settings in WMP?

i tried downloading the codec pack, unfortuantely that did not seem to help. Yahoo Videos also show in black and white. Do you guys have any other suggestions? Does a reinstall reset the WMP settings as well?

    Thanks,
    Bankben

--> yes, reinstalling was the first thing i tried... if it is not an issue with the codecs what else could be causing videos to display in black and white?

--> those same videos work fine on other computers, so it is not the source

--> It was a video overlay settings in the video property. The saturation was at zero. Thanks for all who helped.
