The Windows Media Player that I have will not work with online video clips like CNN. The screen shows up, but there is no video being shown. I dont know what is wrong here. Im using firefox with WMP 11. This wouldnt work with the last version of WMP that I had also.

I'm not too familiar with online video clips from CNN but a suggestion they had on their website was that if you cannot see any video clearing your browser cache might be the solution. To do this in FireFox:
Choose Preferences from the Firefox menu, then select the privacy icon.
Click the Clear button within the Cache section.
Click OK to exit.
I hope this helps. -
Yea I already tried that but to no avail. I also tried using IE also, but that didnt work.
Thanks though! -
Just one question, what OS are you running? Also, by online video clips I'm assuming you can't watch videos like the ones on www.cnn.com, under WATCH FREE VIDEO and any of those listed there(Ex. Four young heroes)?

Its weird, like the ones that require quicktime I can watch but with the one like on CNN, I cant. -
Do you both (MB W163 and NOSintake) have WMP 11? If so, try reverting back down to WMP 10 and see if it works. If it doesn't, let me know.
Also, I know that you said no video is being shown, but can you hear anything (any audio) or does the player show up and nothing occurs after that?
As well, make sure that in Internet Explorer, under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab, scroll down to 'Multimedia' and make surethat 'Play videos in web pages' is checked. -
i have WMP11...but nothing comes up at all. i dont think its that though, because WMP11 worked before i reformated my comp

I'm not sure if this will help either of you but see if it does by following this Step-by-Step solution walkthrough entitled "Solution For videos not playing with windows media player": http://forums.streetfire.net/showthread.php?t=6229.

I checked the IE and that was already checked. I am running WMP 11. The popup shows up. Black screeen where the video is suppose to be at and no audio. I will give that step-by-step a try and report back. Thanks for the help!
