I'm getting pretty sick of Windows Media Player, in particular the fact that i need to get 100 attachments just to watch an avi file... and i hear that WMP does not play music as well as other media players, so what are some good alternative media players out there?

One of the better players out there is called Media Player Classic, it has a very smooth interface and loads of features. It can do basically everything WMP can do and more without bogging down your computer with unneeded stuff.

    *oh and it's free

yes I totally agree with camsimple. I would download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack from:

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

It is free and the large number of codecs it installs is very useful. You can play almost every audio/video file with the codec pack AND it cotains Media Player Classic.
