There's a decent amount of info about this on these boards but it's pretty scattered about it seems.

What media player do you prefer and why? Also, if you use seperate players for video/audio list that.

Regardless of what you use do you have Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or RealPlayer installed on your comp?

I use Media Player Classic as it is sexy. It plays anything you throw at it too, provided you have the necessary codecs.

I use a program called MediaMonkey for music. There is a TV with a DVD player hooked up rite next to the computer so I don't watch movies on the computer but for little internet videos I just use windows media player. Oh I also have Rhapsody so I guess I have Real on the computer. I love the service but the Real player sucks.

For those who use MPC or VLC do you even have the big 3 media players on your comp?

Does it matter at all in terms of memory "bloat" whether or not those programs are on your computer?

Media Player Classic. I've heard good things about VLC but don't need to bother trying it. I still have Window's Media Player but never open it. Good portable app; keep this one on my keydrive too.

Definitely not Realplayer. For some reason, I notice more SPAM in my mailbox when I register.

    VLC for movies
    WMP for audio CDs

Does anyone use the built-in stuff from Media Center Edition to play music or DVDs? Or is that just Windows Media Player?

Am I the only one who uses Windows Media Player? lol. I tried using iTunes but I can really turn up the bass in media player which i cant do anywhere else. It makes my mediocre speakers awsome!! Without media player to crank up the base my music would be ****.
