I am considering getting a latitude laptop, but one of the downsides is that they don't have tons of media features. Basically i was wondering if the mediadirect software they use on the inspirons (the software that lets you play media without booting up), could be run on the Latitudes. I am assuming that the mediadirect software is loaded into the bios memory chip, so it would require you to flash the bios with either a inspiron bios (sounds like a bad idea), or a tweaked laditude bios (probably still risky). Does anyone know of a way to do this? Thanks for any help in advance

Mediadirect is really a waste with a core duo; they boot super fast. It's also crippled (no divx) and has stupid issues: it can't find my the my music folder. I would just ignore it. I don't think you'd be able to use it without a mediadirect button anyway.
