i changed the screen font to 125% to see if that would make the screen any easier for my tired eyes :(
logged aout and in but didnt like it as desktop items were very large, so i changed it back again. but...
the screen items text is ok but all the other windows menu tabs and headings are too small. if i change it back to 125% the menus look right but the desktop.....zzzz well you get the picture.
i think the two have got unlocked. is there some reg setting or something that controls them?

If the desktop icons are your only hangup with 125%, you could simply adjust their size. To do so, right-click an empty portion of the desktop, select "view" and choose "small icons".

Alternatively, you could customize your "Windows Color and Appearance" settings to change only the sizes of certain items. (Right-click desktop, Personalize, Window Color.) For instance, select the item, "Active Title Bar" then change the font size to a larger number. By doing so, you have the freedom to custom adjust only those common Windows menus frequently seen.

Additionally, keep in mind that you are not limited to 100%, 125% and 150%. You can set a custom DPI, playing around until you find a setting you are all around comfortable with. ( Read here)

That's only available in the Windows Classic theme. IMO, those options should have been available irregardless of the chosen theme.

i had that happen to me. seems like a bug.

just change you theme to one of the default themes. that should reset the font to normal 100% view.

as long as youve got a wheel on your mouse click anywhere on desktop > press and hold Ctrl key > turn wheel. works on webpages and forums as well.

thanks, but maybe you misread. the desktop icons and text are ok, only the program menu text was much too small. i think the part of the change 'text size' routine was not complete. all the text was enlarged ok, but only some was then reduced again.
    da13371ama solution was easy fix.

Have you tried changing the menu font size?

    1) Right click on your desktop >> Personalize
    2) Click on Window Color at the bottom of the window
    3) Click the text that says "Advanced Appearance Settings..."
    4) Then in the Item dropdown box select "Menu" and change the font size. Hit Apply to preview things and then hit OK when you're ready. Size 18 is default I think.

    Hope this helps!
