This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Mic works in Linux but not Win 8.1

    So recently my microphone stopped working when playing BF4. I've spent days re-installing audio drivers, screwing around in device manager and anything else I can think of. I was about to open an RMA call with MSI support but first decided to fire up a live version of Ubuntu. I found out that my mic is actually working and it's a Win 8 issue. I don't really want to reinstall the OS so I'm hoping someone here will have an idea I'm missing.
