I want to be able to have a solid, hard copy of my class notes that WILL NOT auto save if something happens accidentally to it. I know that OneNote makes backups... but once you use those backups, they are once again, vulnerable to unwanted change.
I just want one file that I can depend on not auto saving and keep it secure. Even if I file->save as..that file too auto-saves! urgh.
thanks

You can always make copies of your one note folder and organize them by date.

I only have One notebook, which I use for school notes..then each tab (section) is a different class. Then on the right, the pages represent the date of the lecture.
Then next quarter I will make a new notebook for new classes...
So just right click copy the notebook file and paste it somewhere safe? Is there no way to make it like.. "read only" kind of thing so it doesnt auto save? -
For me all my notes are under C:\Users\*User*\Documents\OneNote Notebooks
So you can just copy this folder to somewhere else. -
Just create a new notebook. But yeah, there is no way to disable autosaves. You could just make copies of the notebook at regular intervals. That isn't too hard to do. Or use task scheduler to make shadow copies at certain intervals.
Microsfot OneNote... disable auto-save?
