You can download and test the beta versions of these new streamlined compilers made for the non-professionals with thousands of dollars.

thanks for the link quik. sometimes I wish MS would be a little less agressive on updating VS like every year, i guess with VS2005 we'll see an alternative to the code behind model (code beside, is that what they're calling the new model?) for ASP.NET which in and of itself is going to be a worthy feature since code behind is a pain in the ass, but then again the inline coding with no intellisense sucks so you're left with no good option.

One word of warning: this is Beta.
The first version of VS.Net beta I installed had some problems, mainly not being able to do a clean uninstall. I downloaded this new one and my system was never the same.
Maybe it's just me.
I ended up reformatting and going back to VS 2002.
This is not to disuade anyone, just be prepared.
Good luck. -
i haven't had any problems with it using vb, c++, c#, and j#

I had trouble getting IIS to act like I was used to. I could no longer just create working ASP directories in the root without making them "virtual".

Wow, Quikster, you rock! Is vs2005 going to be released as a full studio again or just like these separate compilers?
