I witnessed very strange system behavior especially in processor clock management and cores utilization, the fix was to uninstall all system drivers and reinstall all of them especially the chipset in proper order. I recommend doing so for everyone who upgraded and didn't clean install.

Dear MSI users,
As of now there have been new Windows 10 updates released.
------------------------------------------------------------
Please do not update Windows 10 as of now!
------------------------------------------------------------
The updates (15063.13) and (15063.138) for Windows 10 are causing insane amounts of issues and reportedly only for users without a clean install. The new MSI GT73VR-7RF is mainly targeted with those issues.
Wonder why the factories can't make a clean install for $3500 machines...
Fix / Repair is available at the end of the thread!
15063.0 Tested / Flawless
15063.13 Tolerable
- Can't boot-up the machine after an hour without using a power adapter!
- Sleep mode issues (After 15 minutes laptop completely shuts off / data loss)
- Booting to a black screen
Fix: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4453
- Dragon center issues (Unstable, saving issues...)
- Nahimic Audio issues
Fix: availaible on MSI Website
- more reports coming...
New 15063.138 Intolerable
- Can't switch from or to integrated graphics (net.framework error)
- Dragon Center has no GPU data
- SCM app failure
- Games crash (League Of Legends)
- Apps won't work properly
- more reports coming...
MSI has updated Nahimic Audio but hasn't really thought of other applications that are critical currently.
Net.Framework could be the main issue
You already updated or you were forced to update?
Here's a fix posted below:
Option 1:
Step 1: Open Start Menu and type "Recovery"
Step 2: Select "Open System Restore"
Step 3: Select "Choose a different restore point"
Step 4: Choose the Windows Update that was performed before and that worked flawlessly.
Then select "Next" and proceed with the instructions that are provided by the software!
Step 5: Wait for everything to finish and enjoy your stable version!
Option 2:
Step 1: Open Settings
Step 2: Click on Update and Security
Step 3: Click on Windows Update
Step 4: Click the Update History
Step 5: Click the Uninstall Updates Link
Step 6: Select the update that last caused issues and click the uninstall button
Step 7: Click Yes to confirm
Step 8: Click the Restart Now to reboot and complete the process
To prevent the same update installing again you can simply do the following:
Step 1: Goto Start Menu and type " run"
Step 2: In the Run Window type " services.msc"
Step 3: Scroll down until you find " Windows Update" and double click on it
Step 4: Find " Startup type" and change it from " Enabled" to " Disabled"
Step 5: Force shutdown
Note: If Update installed again repeat the process on Option 2:
FAQ:
System Restore failed 0x80070005 / other...?
- Please make sure your Anti-virus has been uninstalled.
- Don't let the display go to sleep (helped me)
- Try Safe-Mode.
I chose the wrong recovery... How do I go back?
- Go back to Step 3 and instead Select "Undo System Restore" in the main page.Last edited: Apr 14, 2017jaug1337 likes this. -

Are there new dell drivers for Alienware stuff? The only driver update I have downloaded since the update was NVidia, and my temps are all in check again.

You can download the update assistant from the link below, I recommend you only do the update if you are able to do a clean install if things go wrong.

Has anyone noticed a decrease in battery life?

I put it here as well Windows 10 Crematory Update Annoys Users With Maximum Screen Brightness Battery Warnings - Hothardware.com
"That would be fine if Windows 10 gave users the option to dismiss the message, but that is not the case. Unless turning down the brightness level, it will show up as a potential health risk, with users forever reminded of it with an icon that appears in the system tray" Nice with a babysitterProbably because we the users can't use our own brains

I did a clean install when it came out two weeks ago, everything runs fine... the only annoying issue I am having is in the search, non of my installed programs show up, like word, excel, steam...etc.....is it just me? Files, windows store apps, etc do show up though or I search winword for example.
UPDATE: fixed the search by enabling "Let apps run in the backgroud".....I can still disable the apps from running in the background individually without affecting the search.Last edited: Apr 19, 2017 -

Not a big fan of this update. I went from the 1607 build which had 40+/- processes at startup to 112 at startup with build 1703. My baseline memory usage went from 800MB to 1.9GB out of 8GB of memory. I'm using this for a gaming rig I built 4 years ago. While the hardware is still really good to play most games on mid-high to max levels, I don't need to give away those resources to the OS.
Now onto Windows 10 "Game Mode". From all the reviews and impressions I've read it's a wash and needs a lot of work to really produce the performance of games, Microsoft has touted with this new feature.
Build 1703 won't even install on my ancient Dell Vostro 1700 with 2GB. During the final phase of the install, I'm greeted with a never ending Windows logo and rotating circle, while build 1607 works just fine. SO if Build 1703 is forced on that laptop I'll have to run Linux Mint.
The other thing I noticed is that Windows 10 makes things more blatant even telling you that turning off "privacy" settings won't really change anything. Then of course there's the forced updates and forced apps that are downloaded onto your machine which requires you to delete the stuff MS is automatically sending to your computer. That said all of my gaming PC's will be running Windows 8.1 Pro.Papusan, jaug1337, Aroc and 1 other person like this. -

don't forget to use O&O ShutUp10 as well
For your old Dell laptop, try this:
1) Download the advanced Disk Cleanup shortcut, run it as admin, check all the boxes, then hit ok and let it clean up everything
2) Disable your Antivirus
3) Remove any Windows 10 tweaks you may have done with apps like O&O ShutUp10 or Spybot Anti-Beacon or the likes
4) Reboot
5) Download the Windows 10 Creators Upgrade Manual upgrade file
6) Run it as admin and let it download and reboot when prompted
7) Once you are back in Windows, run the Advanced Disk Cleanup shortcut as admin, check all the boxes, and let it clean up
8) Go to START > All Programs > Windows System > Control Panel > Programs & Features
9) Uninstall the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant located towards the bottom of the apps list
10) Go to the root of C:\ , then delete the $GetCurrent folder -
After the creators update, my bluetooth speakers going on causes a reboot,,before the update never a problem,,now I have to have the speakers off and wait till M$ 1703 is fully booted up and then turn the bluetooth speakers on

I have tried the updater app 10 times and it always fails, it downloads the update then spends 30min installing it before showing an failed to install message.
Windows update says all updates have been installed, maybe my weird boot configuration has it stumped, I tried a clean install a week ago and that failed as well, just giving me an OS not found message, so i though i would go the update route.

Has anyone noticed that they added a new setting called "Max CPU Frequency" (not to be confused with Maximum Processor State setting) inside windows power management options? I don't understand what that is supposed to do since the high perfomance profile already caps the CPU at maximum possible frequency.

Don't install the Windows 10 Creators Update on your own, Microsoft advises - Pcwold.com
"The story behind the story: Microsoft's old school software testing team was greatly reduced a few years ago, and it's pretty clear that the Windows Insider program isn't picking up the slack in full. So it's not surprising to see Microsoft encourage patience for those who want to upgrade." -
I have a few issues with mine as I upgraded early. NEVER AGAIN!
Edge freezes and I get terrible battery life, also, in edge, some websites do not work like they should.hmscott likes this. -
I clean installed W10 CU on older PC and so far its good. I'm holding off upgrades on my main PC until my school work is complete.

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
Installed Creators Update on my Thinkpad Yoga 260. Battery life took a hit, it seems. Tried Game Mode in Overwatch, completely useless. Night Light is cute. Wacom driver was installed for my digitizer - rolled back to default Windows driver without problem.
