I have an odd problem and am hoping someone can help me. I have a Vaio Z with 1920x1080 resolution on a 13.3" screen. I want to stick with this resolution but to make things more easily visible, I adjusted the DPI to about 133%. All the programs on my computer come up perfect except all the Office (2010) applications are WAY WAY WAY to big. The toolbars take up most of the screen, leaving me with very little space to work with unless I hide the bars.

Is there a way to reduce the size of them without turning the DPI back down? I can post pictures if I'm not being clear enough...

I'm pretty sure you have that same capacity (zoom) on Office. But you may have to experiment to find the best combination of those two that satisfy your requirements.

Incidentally, it may be a good idea to look into supplementing with an additional larger screen for when you're doing word documents.

Any idea where I might find the setting? I'm not finding it in any of the options I'm seeing...

I do have a second monitor, but would like to be able to stay productive on the road...

When you set the DPI, did you check / uncheck the 'use windows xp style scaling' box? did you try playing with that?

Well, to tell you the truth, when you said size, I'm thinking solely of percent and specifically the MS Word documents. In that case, the controls are at the bottom.

No, I did not but I will when I get a chance here. I had no idea what the difference was so I figured it best to leave it alone!

Hopefully this makes it clearer...tried to leave some text in there to show the text size is just fine. It's just the borders.

No luck...changed all programs back to the standard DPI EXCEPT the Office software.
