I won't lie to you guys, my sister told me she had a burned (basically pirated) cd of microsoft office 2007, so i said, hell, why waste the 150$ or so when i can get it free. She said she installed it on 4 computers and they work, 2 of which i have seen and have 2007 running on them. Finally, when i got my laptop, i wanted to install it, so she gave me the disc. All over the discs it clearly said Microsoft office XP, but she insisted it downloaded 2007. When i downloaded, i got office XP, which has a very outdated look to it, and outdated features. Any reason why? She also insists this is the only disc she has.. Any help here?

I did uninstall some bloatware when i just got my laptop, including microsoft office 2007 things preinstalled, most of which i believe were trial software, thus bloatware. Did i uninstall something important?

Glad you wont like but discussion of software piracy is against the forum rules so this thread is now closed. Do not bring it up again.

Using pirated software is likely to cause more problem then its worth.

Also OpenOffice is a decent alternative to Microsoft Office and its better than nothing.

Edit: Students are potentially qualified to get Microsoft Office 07 for $60. See this thread for details:
