I just received an invite from Microsoft to the Office Starter 2010 program. And I've also seen about the availability of the Office 2010 beta that is available. I'm fine with OpenOffice on this laptop, but I could use an upgrade over Microsoft Works on my Dell netbook. I was going to install the full Office beta, but I don't really need all those extra programs and space that they'll take up. All I really need is Word. Should I just get the Starter program?

    Thanks

    Hey they learned :D
Works was horrible - especially as it was never fully compatible with Word...

On Office Beta - you can manually deselect the features you do not need.

Just install the full beta with a custom install and don't install the parts you don't want.

Never tried 2010 but all the old office versions could install Word only if you wanted it that way. For a long time I have been installing Office english all programs except word and than installed Word German version. Worked perfectly.
