    so i just updated my newly bought laptop and came with it the app microsoft silverlight. question is. what is silverlight? what is it for? read the "about" part of the app. and i read something about playin DRM music online. can any1 else put in some info's for me?tnx

    It's MS's version of streaming flash video.

    Silverlight's taken some big steps since that article was published, flash not so much. Flash is still more popular in the mainstream, but Silverlight is gaining ground as it adds new features and becomes more robust. Flash is probably closer to end of life while Silverlight is early to mid life.
