Its a nice program, but for removing spyware? Its alright. If they make it a pay service, ill just go back to spysweeper and ad aware

Use a browser that is not not Internet Exploer like FireFox or Opera and you'll get much less spyware.

I use avast! and Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Professional. Ad watch does a good job keeping spyware off my back.

I also have Microsft AntiSpyware installed, although it doesn't seem to do much. On my desktop, I only have it running (not adwatch), and it doesn't block tracking cookies or other similar spyware bits. It also doesn't pick them up in the scan - I do a scan with Microsoft (full, all options), and it would pick up maybe one object, where when I run AdAware SE (build 1.06), it picks up 10-25 objects.

And, IE is prone to getting a lot of spyware - use FireFox or Opera and you will have a lot less problems as everyone else says! :D

I use Netscape 8 along w/ Firefox, although I like to use Netscape more. Netscape has built in anti-spyware, so in using it in comparison with Firefox, I've gotten much less adware/spyware.

    nod32 (virus detection and prevention)
zonealarm pro (triple layer firewall and spyware scan)
    ad-aware personal (adware removal)
    spybot s&d (immunization, spyware removal)
microsoft spyware (security agents [i like these!], spyware removal)
ccleaner (disk cleanup, temp, cookies, history, etc)
    diskkeeper pro (defrag)

nod32 keeps me virus free. zonealarm keeps things out, and doesnt let programs phone home. zap and msft spyware notify and prevent changes to files, files accessing other files, etc. adaware, spybot and msft keep off the malware. crapcleaner and diskkeeper keep the system running smoothly.

I have always been hesitant about putting more than 2 spyware apps on my computer at once - they can conflict with one another. I once had Microsoft AS rip out an entire section of my winsocks - almost had to reformat the entire machine to fix it! Used LSPFix to get it back online...took over a day to crack the problem.

I just use avast!, AdAware Pro, and MS AS. The three make a great combo.

HEY guys! You can get spyware protection without using any program. You can just replace your host file with a modded one so it fends off attacks/probes/etc. Here is the link!
    The explanation is as follows:

"The Hosts file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. This file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS. This prevents access to the listed sites by redirecting any connection attempts back to the local machine. Another feature of the HOSTS file is its ability to block other applications from connecting to the Internet, providing the entry exists."

    Works for me. ;)
