Do I need 2005 if I have 2008?
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redist.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redist.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redist.
I have all of these in my programs list, you will notice 2x 2005 but they are different sizes, and when I installed TS3 I got this new C++ 2008.... do I need the 2005's or can I get rid of them now?

That dependns on what you are developing with. If you write code that needs the 2005 redist then yes. If you're not sure, then my recommendation is to leave well enough alone. It's not like these packages take up a lot of space.
-
but having multiple annoy me
i dont write code other programs installed these for me.... -
So can I delete them?

as most likely those other apps installed them as THEY NEED THEM, no.
-
Why wouldn't they just rollup these updates, so instead of making me have 3 programs installed I could have 1...... sounds kind of like a no brainer to me....
Anyway, is there a way to remove them from add-remove programs list at least? -

because such rollups are what caused the dll hell.
you have to know that there are a lot of versions of these runtimes. and each app installs exactly the one you need.
granted, it could be hidden, but well, cry as you want, they're there for a reason, and it's a good one. remove the entries from the sw list if you want (you can with ccleaner f.e.), but don't uninstall. -
you can remove them from the Add Remove program list with CCleaner. Go to tools and select the item from the list and select 'Delete Entry'
But then you cant uninstall it from Add Remove programs anymore later.
You are actually lucky... I have Visual Studio C++ entries right now. Not to mention 6 for Java and J2E which has the same problem. -
I cant remove them with CC cleaner (entries) I get some sort of error....
advise? -

accept the way it is? it's a really simple solution hehe
and btw, starting with the win7 development kit, sw developers can now integrate setups into setups, and having them being added to installed sw as the same entry. so in the future, it should not happen anymore.
but adaption rate for developers to such changes is very low sadly.
