How is Microsoft Windows Defender, I did a search on it but only found old threads when it was called Microsoft Antispyware. The consensus seemed to be it was one of the best, is that still true? Any input is welcome

    Thanks

Honestly, Microsoft cannot even manage to make a secure OS to start with. You really expect them to make a good piece of security software for it? Nah...

Seriously, there are much better security applications out there.

I'd stick with Ad-aware+Spybot combo. Then I'll throw Windows Defender in there if I'm in the mood.

Windows Defender has been useless to me. It has never found any spyware and risks, yet Ad-Aware and Spybot constantly does.

I'd say don't use it, or at least don't use JUST Windows Defender. Ad-Aware and Spybot is the best combo if you ask me. I agree with blackmamba on that.
