    3 hours since powering up my ThinkPad T500, Windows 7 PRO SP1 is still search for updates. I own my laptop but Microsoft now appears to own my CPU.

    same here. Windows 10 seems to find updates in about 5 seconds and starts downloading them. Win7 searched and finally found them in about an hour. Seems intentional.

    Error when launching Group Policy Editor after KB3147458
    So today I decided to format my computer and do a clean install of Windows 10 Build 10586.104 then install KB3147458 before creating my first image using Macrium Reflect.

    After I got to the Windows desktop, I started my usual tweaks, uninstalled all metro apps via CCleaner, then ran O&O ShutUp10 and disabled everything as I usually do.....

    Then I installed KB3147458 and rebooted.

    I then noticed then when I launch Group Policy Editor I get 2 errors.....

    I then thought that it was something between uninstalling the Metro Apps and using O&O ShutUp10.

    So I formatted again and this time didn't tweak anything. At first, Group Policy Editor launches fine with no errors, after installing the KB3147458 update manually, the error started.

    So I formatted once more and this time I didn't manually install KB3147458Now I installed all my drivers, activated Windows then installed all Windows updates via the regular WU in Windows......

    After the reboot, I got the same darn error so I have wasted my entire day formatting when this error is still there in this latest update...

    any ideas how to fix it?
