Has anyone else noticed that Microsoft Word appears to be somewhat of a battery hog? I noticed consistent hard drive pinging about once every second...is this the autosave feature in the program? I wouldn't mind trying to extend that out if possible to prolong battery life.

Has anyone else noticed Office progs using more battery? I get almost 3 1/2 to 4 hours on other progs including installing things, yet just using Word has cut it down to about 3...

Not really something I pay attention to, but the constant HDD hit is almost certianly the auto-save. It's saved my butt a few times so I don't mess with it.

Yeah, I wasn't really fretting over 30 mins less on a battery from doing a tad of Photoshopping but mostly Word. Hell, I even noticed better battery life after dumping Norton and going w/ EZ Armor for an antivirus. I've had a lot of luck w/ EZ so far so overall I'm very happy.

Also on a side note, this thing runs great w/ HL2 and CS:S. Feels weird when the heat shoots out the side, but I'm very impressed overall.
