So I'm having troubles with using Word 2007 on a PC I just installed it on. I bought Office 2007 last year, used one of the "charges" on this laptop, a year later (currently today) I decided to update my sister's computer with the newer versions of PowerPoint and Word. So I pop in the disc, type in the product key, and away it goes. After it's done installing and updated, I open up PowerPoint and yep it works. Then I open up Word and well...not so lucky.
A window pops up saying "The document contains macros. Macro language support for this application is disabled. Features requiring VBA are not available. Would you like to open this document read only?" Then it gives this huge article about how I can change my macro security settings. Word actually works (I can type documents, save them, open them up), but I have to always deal with this window popping up and all the "OK" or "Cancel" clicking.
I went and tried to follow their article about macro security settings to see if the problem was there, but the article proved useless and I'm wondering if I should just reinstall Word again. Any ideas?
**One more thing. The computer is an XP machine, but the box says it runs on both Vista and XP. PowerPoint doesn't have this problem of macro security settings. I have matched these "settings" exactly to the ones on my laptop, and there are still issues.**

Basically, you need to change the features that are installed to include shared features. You don't have to re-install. Just update the installation. -
Are you certain that your normal.dot file has not become contaminated by a Word macro virus? Regardless of what features and components you've installed, you should not see any message like that when opening a blank document.
