So at the moment Ryzen/TR isn't listed in Hardware support.

    They said:
"Our architectural changes in the Windows kernel take full advantage of high-end processors families, such as Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron, that package a high number of cores in single or multi-processor configurations."

But I think the TR will be supported as well. It's related to the number of cores.

So is Pro the version without any spying / telemetry?

How nice that would be, paying for what we used to get for free - for being free US Citizens, rules based on our Constitution and Bill of Rights, it's all finally being commercialized, one section at a time.

The AMD and now Intel new architectures must have some optimizations possible that Microsoft could implement, even though they have broad support for similar elements as described.

Time will tell, I hope AMD gets MS to implement their optimizations, and they don't get "thread blocked" by Intel striking a deal with MS.

Can we buy a Pro license as an upgrade like before with a one time cost, or is this one of those pay yearly perpetual screw jobs?

I think,,, Spying is a part of almost every single technology, politicians are behind and controlling all technology owners, Intel, AMD, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Facebook, Twitter, name it. All are tools and arms. Maybe I'm wrong, or I hope so.

The war between Intel and AMD, using Microsoft or other hardware partners, the war will be resolved by politicians as well.

Regarding to the licenses, I don't know yet all details, but will make sure how it will be and update the thread.

There seems to be an overwhelming incentive offered to sell out their fellow citizens, as evidenced by so many otherwise reputable companies turning against all of their customers and disabling all security supporting their privacy.

Even if the Pro stuff comes with this stuff disabled, it's likely all still there in the binary, waiting for a remote trigger or other update to re-enable it.

Hopefully someone will come out with configured firewalls with ongoing updates to stop this and other data leakage from business and personal networks.

No, pro has it, enterprise doesn't. Same with update control. Pro for workstations seems closer to enterprise, but also has some network controls found in 2016 server, so it will likely give the control like enterprise edition.

    It also has ReFS. So...

    @Mr. Fox @Prema @Papusan

Ok before we get started.... let's get one thing straight... I'm an idiot  (for fux0ring up my perfectly working machine in an attempt to try Windows 10 Pro for Workstation/ RS 3)

After spending a week setting up my Bloatware Free Edition of Windows 10 to perfection, installing my 10s of apps, configuring all firewall rules, bla bla bla.... had a perfectly working system

Then some muppet on MDL forums hooked me up with an ISO which is both the Redstone 3 Preview Build AND it was the Pro for Workstation claiming that it would activate just fine using my laptop's HWID, apparently some bug from Micro$h4ft so I got very excited, I thought if I could get my machine activated via HWID, then I may not even need to purchase a key come the time when Windows 10 Pro for Workstation will be released....

    The good stuff:

    - You would swear you are not on Windows, the snappiness of the OS is blistering fast, it's insane, that was even without me installing a single driver which was a big surprise. Windows animation and everything worked as if the Graphics Card Driver was installed even though it showed as Standard Graphics Adapter in Device Manager!!

    - Reboots went down by half... if I would reboot from the time I see the spinning circle of Windows loading to the desktop in 8 seconds, now it's 3-4 seconds! every single time! even after installing all the drivers!

    - Cold boot including waiting for the BIOS to show the MSI logo went down from 35 seconds to 25 seconds

    ============================
Installed all the drivers.....then just as I was about to right click on Computer, to go to System Properties and see if my Windows was activated or not...some devil pulled the plug.....

    black screen.....................

Did a hard shutdown, then when it started, it said "Preparing Windows"..... then it logged me in using some temp profile....

tried a few reboots but that's it....my profile was gone....

even though I had the latest drivers...seems like either one of them wasn't compatible with it or this preview build is a piece of junk........
    =====================================
    Some changes that I remember:
    - In Computer, now you have folder called 3D Objects that you can't remove, just like you would see Documents, Pictures, etc.

    - The Windows Driver Foundation Service is gone...I usually set it to automatic to ensure drivers are installed properly......went to look for it....NADA...it's completely gone now..

So I formatted and installed Windows 10 Bloatware Free Edition again....... unfortunately, my 5TB spanned disk of my 1TB 850 EVO + 4TB 850 EVO was destroyed, when I imported the foreign disks, the partition just showed as RAW with no file system...... tried many tools but none worked as it was a spanned drive.... so my data is lost... I have a 2 week old backup but it's gonna take ages to get back on track...

Verdict: I don't know if it was Windows 10 Pro for Workstation that caused this insane speed/snappiness or if it was Redstone 3 but man....we are in for some good stuff (minus the fluff).....if you thought Windows 7 was snappy...wait till j00 see Red crayons 3!

Speaking of snappiness, because of how fast the reboots were, I was able to install all the drivers rebooting after each one in half the time I normally take

I have to vehemently disagree that you are an idiot. BGA acceptance being the only exception, you are highly intelligent, remarkably generous and a wonderful person. One of the reasons you are so great is because you are always experimenting and trying new things. It's not good to be gullible and expect the Redmond Retards are going to do something right, but having hope that they will eventually put aside their childish endeavors to make Windows a smartphone OS is all we can do. If they don't, then we're all screwed we're all going to continue being screwed by their pathetic trash OS. Maintaining hope is a good thing. Without it the situation is hopeless. Keep up the good work, Brother @Phoenix. Chin up... try, try again.

You just reminded me, now on the taskbar, in addition to Cortana, Task View Button , App Store, Edge, you have PEOPLE pinned on the far right so you can easily see your Windows Virus Contacts! how convenient! More cartoons on the screen!

Luckily, you can get rid of it but just sayin'. That's the kinda screen you'll see from now on, on your average joe computer....literally no space for any taskbar windows when minimized because all the space is taken by the Micro$h4ft garbage apps

Brother @j95 has been telling me things about how unbelievably pathetic RS3 and RS4 will be. Did you know that WinRing0 will be blocked and the awesome products we love such as HWiNFO64 and ThrottleStop are on their Digi-Nazi hit list? Unless they repent and turn from their wickedness, those programs will not be functional. No kidding... the depth and magnitude of the evilness and stupidity defies logic and I hope they either change or end up going out of business permanently. Their idiocy and insolence is not something any of us should tolerate. I don't want tragedy to affect the thousands of families earning a paycheck from Micro$haft. Most of them are hard working folks just trying to scratch out a living, but we need to snuff the life out of their retardedness while there is still something left worth saving. They're on the edge of not being worth saving right now IMHO. They are trying to play God, and where you and I come from that is a form of blasphemy that is deserving of death and a life sentence to the fires of hell. Satan already tried playing God and he got kicked out of heaven for it. They should learn from his stupid mistake, otherwise they will deserve a one-way ticket to meet him face to face.

This will mean millions of honest people that are not willing to drink their urine Kool-Aid will be left with no option but to rely on software piracy, hacks and cracks to have the kind of Windows OS they want, require and deserve to have. I really hate that, but I'm willing take whatever steps are necessary to get the job done if they are non-compliant with my expectations. I have no intentions of bending to their will and accepting their filth.

Were there any UWP based apps? I think they are slowing I mean very slowing transitioning to Linux Kernel for increased scalability, reliability and performance. Maybe in future we need Windows 10 TweakStone Edition.
@Phoenix I think you were unlucky because it seems they are blacklisting consumer hardware and yours was one of them. Now, we will be seeing Wincintosh OS in the future.
I'm not clean installing RS3 rather in place upgrade, let MS fix current bugs and retain my existing settings and apps.
They are taking out ability to backtrack to older versions and removing much of legacy code to make the OS smaller, faster and possibly locking out any tweaks and writes to registry.
Maybe I will freeze the current RS2 or RS3 and never upgrade further.
Even if Martin and @unclewebb start porting their implementation to latest vs 2015 and above, the resulting exe will be heavier than vc++6 and consume more cpu time and we may don't like it. Tamas Miklos from AIDA64 has already started a beta version of UWP app but no cpu/gpu/cache benchmark till date.

I hate UWP feces. It has no place in my life and I have no plans to make room for it. I made an exception for Gears of War 4 and Ultimate because I like the game. I still enjoy playing the original Vista version of Gears of War. With no exceptions I can identify, all UWP filthware apps are inferior products. Their functionality is reduced and most of it is unaesthetic bloated cartoon screen pig software (consuming unnecessary amounts of screen space) to add insult to injury. I am baffled that anyone is willing to accept this garbage. It blows my mind because this stuff is nothing but pathetic free adware/bloatware trash of the same caliber you would expect to see running freeware from Google Play Store on an Android platform.

I am dual booting Windows 7 and will stop using Windows 10 completely if they go further than I am willing to put up with. The only reason even I use it now, and Windows 8.X before Windows 10, is for Fire Strike (and now Time Spy for Windows 10). Fire Strike gets a tiny bit higher score than Windows 7 using Windows 8+ but everything else gets higher benchmark scores with Windows 7, including Sky Diver. If it were not for my passion for overclocking benching, and needing Time Spy and Fire Strike points for my status on HWBOT.org, I would have no reason to waste any of my drive space for Windows 10. It is a mostly an undesirable product. There are maybe 2 features of Windows 10 that I can identify that are actually useful, but it remains inferior to Windows 7 by almost every measurement.

If we get to the point that I have no option but using Windows 10 because of no driver support for Windows 7 then I will most likely simply stop using personal computers and switch to cheap junk Android tablets and Chromebooks and use the money for another hobby. Apple/Mac is absurdly overpriced garbage that Micro$haft is trying to emulate and Linux is too incomplete to take seriously, so there would no be reason for me to continue my enthusiast passion for high performance computers. I can play games on a console, but I honestly do not play games with the frequency that I used to. I can take it or leave it. I still love a chaotic run and gun FPS and can play those for hours, but I am not willing to spend the money on that any more if I am going to be forced into using Windows 10. If I were to buy a console to continue gaming, it would intentionally not be an XBOX because I am not interested in giving these idiots any money. I'd settle for PlayStation for the sole purpose of not giving money to Micro$loth.

I actually use UWP apps such as Calculator (includes a lot of unit converters), Groove Music, Films & TV (only when battery is nearly empty). Might be because I use Windows Phones, only downside I noticed is they startup automatically consuming no resources and no performance hit. During Benching, I force close them.

I delete those from the ISO using MSMG Toolkit before installing W10. I used to use Windows phones and liked them better than Android or iOS, but I finally gave up because I was frequently unable to do something simple, like watch free videos on a plane trip due to lack of support for Windows phone OS. I still like that phone OS better, but the lack of support for it was stifling. Very similar to Linux. Awesome OS with a stifling lack of support and software incompatibility.

year after year, I try to use Linux and delete it after 5 mins...hundreds of things don't work starting from your FN keys, Wireless Network Adapters especially, to software to the time needed to look for an alternative for every app that you use for Windows. IMO, it will NEVER EVER be a mainstream OS. If it would've, we would've seen its popularity rise especially with the release of Windows 10 but truth of the fact is, it will remain buried under a big stone because its developers focus on different things rather than focusing on making the darn thing work for every computer it may be installed on.

Pictures can tell you more than words  Maybe Micro$haft should pick the puke color as the main (pastel) color in their logo and apps? Yeah, it fits very well!!

These are the only apps I have. Xbox is there just to make the Games Mode function properly and Sticky Notes is for me to write reminders on who I want to flame next

Agree. Great basic OS with a severe absence of functionality. Most open source stuff ends up half-baked. Great concept, but seldom ever executed to completion. Many open source projects end up abandoned as well. Free is always nice in concept, but free doesn't pay bills or give the people working on it an incentive to try harder. Even donationware is much better, in almost all cases, than free app crap. Two examples of outstanding donationware are ThrottleStop and HWiNFO64. If they became open source they would turn into crapware.

To me, Linux if I ever did use it or let's say got a laptop which has Linux preinstalled some Dell Jokebooks would be an OS either for:

    1) Web browsing and watching YouTube
    2) Hacking

No more fun, no benchmarking tools, no games, nada, you open it, and use it, just like Apples junk OS

Exactly. It works great for those things, which I can also do on my rooted disposable $50 Kindle Fire tablet. The Facebook/twitter generation thrives in that environment of mediocrity. Ignorance is bliss.

Pukey pastel colors for a crappy OS is fitting. Feces also comes in pastel colors that can vary by diet. Both are smelly, so they also have that in common with Windows OS X.

OpenOffice is severely lacking in functionality and GIMP is gimped.
