    Quite surprised about this as well. I haven't had any problems like these in 7 *knock on wood*.

    I used to have a similar problem a while back in Vista when I would turn back my laptop on from standby and all I would get was a black screen. Turned out it was a problem with an ATI service that turned on automatically. Once I set it to manual, the problem went away.

    Hmm strange, i run with the ati services all the time with my machine, i used to black screen but it seemed to be driver associated, i think that was also in vista.

    I'm fully patched and it seems fine.

    But man, from now on I'll probably wait a few days after Patch Tuesday to see if there are any glaring issues.
