This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    8.1's no problems.

    189 mb available, tracked the network use: only 55 MB was actually downloaded, which included 28 MB of definitions + flash, so the actual cumulative was only 27 MB.

    Confirmed previous impressions, the cumulative checks what's already installed and downloads only what's 'needed' (needed in MS' mind that is, not necessarily what the user may want or need).
