I'm planning to migrate from my current laptop (V1S) to a newer one (Asus G51-A1), and usually it takes me about three months to fully migrate. Now that I have a work-paid license to VMWare 6, I was wondering whether I can take an image of my V1S's 160 GB drive and boot it with VMWare, basically having my old machine as a VM to ease the migration? Has anyone attempted that before?

Probably won't work, since VM has its own set of hardware also.

Nah, it worked, VMWare has an import/export option! Kickass.
