uhm nice, something to try out. could help my dads system.

How does the quality compare to vlc media player when playing youtube videos? When installing it asks to install "visual c++ runtime libraries (x86)", should that be installed? What is it?

they mention EcoMode in the link , but dont say that it is only in the professional version that has not been released yet.
-
Wow! It plays my HD videos so much better than VLC on my desktop's 9800GT! Plus, it can hook into my TV Tuner card so I don't have to use the over-bloated Windows Media Center...
-
visual c++ runtime libraries (x86) is like DirectX.
Its a collection of files that Windows access like a library.
Just like you need Adobe Flash for playing YouTube video. -
Version 1.3 is out.
-
Version 1.4.3 is now out and it offers improvements to DXVA on ATI Radeon HD 4xxx & 5xxx GPUs with latest ATI Catalyst.
Should also apply to mobile ATI cards too if the drivers are up to date.
Edit: Woot, post no. 500! -
All media players support GPU acceleration. What is so special about this player?
-
It works great with TV cards?
Everyone is free to choose what media player they want to use, but this is the only problem free solution i have found to work with my Intel GMA 4500m IGP thats included with the Intel GL40 chipset used on budget notebooks. -

If you use windows 7, windows media supports gpu acceleration which should be easier to setup.
-
Just hope the next Windows Media Player version gets support for subtitles.
Nearly every other player has support for a wide range of subtitles. -

e.g. Free-Codecs.com :: DirectVobSub 2.39 : DirectVobSub is simply a DirectShow filter which can be used to display subtitle
Mirillis Splash Lite v1.2: Now even better! xD
