I do not remember ever having a picture on the start menu of this computer. But all of a sudden it bugs me.
Any ideas on how to remedy this?

What do you mean? Which picture don't you want? I am confused. lol

he's talking about the user picture that appears in the upper corner of the start menu.
Goto control panel > user accounts. is there a picture selected for your account? -
You can try going to control panel, and choose user account.
There you should be able to pick which picture you'd like to display. -
I thought that was the picture he was asking about. I thought he wanted to remove it but then I was going to say he didn't have one anyways. LOL

woops that's not it. I have mine disabled also thru some way
, but since I use the classic menu I never noticed.

--> everything is setup correctly in the "User Accounts" im just not sure what else to do. I can be more specific if you ask.
Thanks -
If you want to add a picture:
Click start> control panel> user accounts
Then choose your account that you use.
Then click "change picture".
You can search your laptop for a picture if your don't want to use the defaults.
I hope that is what you are looking for.

Are you using the classic logon screen or the XP "welcome screen"?
After some googling I found somewhere that it says you cannot have a pic in the start menu without using the welcome screenI find that a bit weird, but try it out

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/removepicture.htmFrom what i have read... It seems as if i need to have the windows "Welcome Screen" Enabled inorder to have a picture there.
---> Because i have IBM software logon, using my fingerprint, the "Welcome Screen" is disabled.
---> Im guessing this solves it, either i can have a picture there, and logon with windows. or i can use my fingerprint and lose the picture.
Thanks, for all your help.

I don't have the welcome screen enabled and I have a picture on my start menu.
