The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Missing taskbar icons, tried everything

    for some reason recently my volume and network icons keep going AWOL i go to enable them and they are greyed out, i searched on here and google for solutions such as deleting registry entries, but the problem keeps happening so was wondering if any NBR users have come across this and managed to solve it??? :confused: :confused: :confused:

    EDIT: im using vista ultimate 32

    Have you scanned for viruses/spyware recently? Did you do anything specific before this started? This could include installing a program or driver, or running registry cleaners/repairs.

    Check the system event logs to see if anything shows up.
