Hi,
i have an Hp dv6282 with Vista premium 32 and go7400 gc.
I tried recently to update the express chipset to its latest version (7.14.10.1187) on the HP site, but shortly after the installation begins i have an error message saying that the system does'nt meet the minimal requirements to continue the process, or something like that...?!
Does the same in safe mode.
The current driver i have is apparently the 6.0.6000.16399, dated 6.2006 !
Btw my GC drivers are the 101.70 extreme from Tweaksrus.
If anyone has an idea...?
Thank's a lot.

I am going to guess on this that since on HP site that is a Graphics Driver and you don't have the Intel GMA950 on your computer that is the problem. Also another thing that makes me suspect this is there is a Driver for the Nvida's right below with the same release date. So you cannot install the drivers because you lack the hardware.
HP has a automatic update feature that might help with correct updates for your computer. -
Its really a strange thing, if that's it...
There might be a chance of installing the chipset drivers if i install first the nvidia GC ones that are below?
Anyway i tried to get updates with the HP update feature, it only proposes me recovery manager and audio drivers, nothing about the chip ones...
But hey, all the go7400 gc owners can't properly update their chipset driver or what?! -
Here is the thing, I have never heard of chipset drivers to update the chipset per se. I am saying you don't have what the update driver is so why would you update? You have the Nividia so that is what you update with the Nividia update drivers if you choose. But you are already using non HP drivers, are they better or worse? I don't know, but since HP's they are optimized for your configuration I would give them a shot. When the 945 has integrated graphics as part of "Centrino" you have GMA 950, when you have 965 and integrated graphics as part of "Centrino" you have GMA X3100. You do not have the integrated graphics portion of the "Centrino" platform. You keep referring to the "chipset drivers" but they are not "chipset drivers" they are "drivers" for the graphics portion of that "chipset"
Which you do not have which is why you cannot update them so stop trying. It is not a mistake or malfunction of the update, you cannot update what you do not have. I agree HP could of written it more clearly but technical documents are notorious for being poorly written from a “standard English” perspective. I guess to try and help you understand, how about this, you go find driver updates for your CPU, if you find them I will help you update your chipset. You will not find them they do not exist. If there was a CPU or “chipset” update it would be a BIOS flash, not drivers. You do not have a problem nothing is wrong the update is not for you! -
Originally i thought these drivers were the controller of the
express chipset for the go7400 i have, as this model only comes with this gc, and this specific update figures in the page for this model.
But hey, ok, what you say makes sense...
As for the HP gc drivers, those i had when i recieved the lappy were minimal, with no brightness/contrast/gamma etc features at all in the control panel, and that's why i chose the tweakrus's, wich have these possibilities and work fine.
Anyway thank's for your reply... -
I might be wrong as that I am using common sense and no formal computer training, hardware or software. Common sense can get one in much trouble with computers so an email to HP might be worth it. I do think I am correct but, even when I'm wrong I think I am correct.
Mobile intel 945gm express chip wont install
