    Hey everyone,

    I have a movie in .mkv format, and I'm trying to watch it, the problem is, when I play it with Media Player Classic, it only has sounds, no image. When I play it with VLC, it has sounds and image, but I can't skip to a certain section of the movie. If I do it, I get a frozen image, but the sound still plays fine. I have CCC and CoreCodec.

    What should I do?

    EDIT:
    Here's the error message I get with Media Player Classic
    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x536 23.98fps

    VLC has the codecs compiled into it. What you're probably running into is a problem with the H.264 codec... there are some encodings that are incompatible with the "standard" decoders, and thus, you have problems.

    I can't give you a solution, unfortunately. It sounds like you have all the codecs installed that you should need, but I'm not enough of an expert to figure out what exactly is going on with your video.

    BTW, mkv is not a format any more than avi is a format. It's a container... the issues you're having are related to the codec rather than the container.

    MPC = Media Player Classic
    CCCP = Codec Pack
    CoreAVC = H.264 Codec

    So 1 player, 1 codec pack, and 1 additional codec.
