Other than Daemon Tools, does anyone have a favorite tool or trick to mounting an ISO file under Vista (32 bit)?

Try Virtual Clone Drive. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

There are plenty of other tools available to mount iso images, as far as I remember Alcohol 120% creates a virtual drive, also ISO Burster has the same feature if i'm not mistaken.
Edit: I used to have VirtualCD before i came across Daemon tools, which worked just fine. -
Gary, try PowerISO. You can trust me, and you know it.
-
I'd go with hendra on the Virtual CloneDrive.

Thanks folks!! I am off to try one (or more) of these out. My old standby VirtualCD from WinXP days doesn't work on Vista... sigh...

VirtualCloneDrive FTW!
Even Securom doesn't have problems with it, and that gives it an edge over a lot of mounting software... -
alcohol 120% or nero image

Magic ISO here.

They all do NOT do the same thing, PowerISO makes me a winner here! -
Well I meant as far as his needs are; just mounting an image, they all work and mount the same. ;] -

Sorry, I have been a bit distracted with server issues. Arghhhhhhh. Will report back when I get back to this task.

OK folks, the distractions are behind me (well at least temporarily) and here is a summary of the suggestions thus far.
Virtual Clone Drive. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html Free
Magic ISO Maker http://www.magiciso.com/ $29.95
PowerISO http://www.poweriso.com/ $29.95
UltraISO http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/ $29.95
Alcohol 120% http://www.alcohol-soft.com/ $50.00
With all due respect to my bud Silas Awaketh, I am going to try the FREE one first. But I don't need or really want all the extra ISO stuff all of these options offer. I really ONLY want to be able to mount an ISO. That's why I liked the old WinXP app. <sigh>
Update: I just found out that the MagicISO folks also have MagicDisk http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm a freebie that just handles mounting of ISO images. It is VERY hidden on their website. You have to dig into the tutorials to even find a reference to it. There are separate 32bit and 64 bit versions. This will be my first candidate to try out.

But, I had already installed and used MagicDisk by the time I got your reply. MagicDisk also includes the ability to create an ISO from a CD/DVD. (Not sure yet if there are limitations on that option.)
But I am satisfied, thus far, that MagicDisk does what I needed.
Thanks though!!!
Gary -
Well, there have been reports that MagicDisk is not fully compatible with Windows Vista, and it cause BSODs more often than not. That might be the reason it was "hidden" on their own website, it being a faulty software.

Yikes, I was just making all that up to hopefully scare you into uninstalling MagicDisk and installing PowerISO!
But all's well that ends well!

But back to the point, I did reboot and there was no issue with the unsigned driver. Just a simple matter of a developer not wanting to pay the exorbitant price for a certificate.
Gary -
So you're not going to install PowerISO now? I used such a fine quote for nothing!
I'll be removing it from my earlier post, you do the same, please.
I could use it somewhere else. -
Just a question to the OP. Why don't you want to use Daemon Tools? Was my first ISO mounting app, and still is to this very day. Alcohol 120% I prefer for making ISOs. I don't really like the ISO mounting interface for it.

So looks like I won. Too bad Silas.

You recommended MagicISO, and I wound up using MagicDisc. Granted from the same company, but to find MagicDisc I had to really dig into the MagicISO site to find it. It was a freebie that did JUST the ISO mounting I wanted to do.
Gary -
Well, since it was from the same company from the site I recommended, I'm still more of a winner. Not that I care. -

I just unpack the isos with winrar and store the non-iso form in the \\server\Software and start the setup. isos don't survive long (except the ones that are really there for burning. windows setups f.e.).
