Is there a reliable way to mount ext3 formatted drives in Windows? How well do solutions like ext2ifs and ext2fsd work?
Thanks.

ext2ifs works unless you have logical partitions under linux, which it can't seem to see properly.

The drive will be a simple external hard drive connected via usb to a router running tomato fw. Do you see any problem with this setup and ext2ifs?

I would just run a linux VM under VirtualBox(or your favorite choice).
