Is there any way to make the mouse pointer pause briefly between monitors, enabling aero snap, but also allowing me to flick the pointer to one side without sending it onto another app?

Nope. If you want to snap to the inner halves of two monitors, you'll need to snap to the outer half and then hit 'Win+Left' or 'Win+Right' one or two times.

Actually, simply Win+Left/Right does the trick. It'd just be handy to be able to mouse it over too.

Matrox allows all kinds of aero snap work to jump between multi monitors.

You do need to be running one of their vid cards and their powerdesk software to get the advantages through.
