How do you move Excel cells in a group and maintaining the unity of the group without ungroupping them first? Right now I have like 10 groups in a worksheet and I need to move them one cell downward. I don't want to ungroup them first, move them downward and regroup them one by one. It's too tedious!

Don't you just select all groups, cut and paste it where you want it, and then delete whatever you don't want?
-
What about just inserting a line of cells above the group(s) in question (that is, highlight a row of cells just above the groups, but not extending wider than the groups, then insert->cells and move cells downward)?
-
I couldn't do that without getting all the groups mixed up. I can move the cells but the group wouldn't move accordingly. For example: if my group contains cells from A1 to A10 and I move them one cell downward, the contents of the cells will move from A2 to A11 but the group still refers to cells A1 to A10.

Do you mean "group and outline" groups? I think I know what you're saying. You have groups with brackets on left for specific rows, and when you move the data, the group brackets stay where they're at?
Like from first image to second with data (1-10 at A4 to A13) cut and pasted the data only, two cells down.
Only way I know is to insert, delete, or cut/paste entire rows. Groups don't follow the data, only the rows.
If you're up for it, and it has info that's ok to share, send it my way, I'll take a peek.
