    Link here!
    Found the info on BetaNews!

...And apparently the scripted menus, like the "Forum Tools" and "Search This Forum" don't work anymore (same for a few others).

I heard from some people saying that it was a nightly build, not the real release or something.

    Click that link brothers...
It's RC2. I replaced the 1 with a 2 from the Mozilla RC download page. And guess what...? You usually check the link (which seems like official from the naming scheme) before saying nightly :). Those nightly builds usually come from the FTP servers, not Mozilla's page.

You're welcome...however I don't think it's better than RC1. For me they've inserted a bug (first post). I don't know why I can't click from this forum (Windows OS and Software), but can click from this page.

So what? The link works. My link is the same as the one from RC1 they have on their official page, but swapped the 1 from RC1 with 2.

I installed it. I'm still missing two add-ons (FireFTP and TabMixPlus) and my favorite theme (RedShift V2), but otherwise looks great.

Yeah, well, it's RC2 no doubt :). BetaNews don't post nightly builds and they were right so far with every software I downloaded from their site.

    IETab won't work with this.

EDIT: Actually, scratch that. It will.

It is official now. Still no TabMixPlus add-on. Still no FireFTP add-on. Still no RedShift theme. I'm using the In The Dark theme. The PitchDark theme is another choice.

Other than those items already mentioned, Firefox V3 is ready to go as far as I can determine. I have not deinstalled Firefox V2 yet, but am running Firefox V3 all the time now.

    So, I just installed FF3.

And I don't like it and want to revert back to what I had before (mainly because it doesn't support my favorite add ons and theme)

How do I revert back without losing any settings I previously had? The only way I can see is to uninstall it, but will that uninstall my previous version of firefox as well?

No, it won't. As long as you didn't uninstall it before you installed this one.

tried with Nightly Tester Tool addon?
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543

It might make many, sometimes all, of ur themes and extensions to work under FF3 RC2

Side note: FF3RC3 is a great improvement from FF2, many of the previous addon many no longer be needed. So try it out first before add ur current addon back in. U know the trick "have a taste before adding more salt to ur meal"?

    cheers ...

So if I install RC2, then, will I be able to automatically upgrade to the final release?

It's a good idea to try out the new firefoxes (as well as other software) using a portable version that does not mess with your settings. Take a look at portableapps.com.

I went back to Firefox V2.

I could not get downloads to work in V3, although they work fine in V2.

Something about my Security Zone Settings Blocking.

    Hi.

RC1 has been crashing a lot for me lately, even after a re-install, normaly at login boxes.

The only plugin i have is a spell checker.

    Hopefully RC2 will fix this.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Regards

    John.

I am back on Firefox V3 after researching and finding “the solution”. I say “the solution” because I do not like it. “The solution” is to go into Internet Explorer (IE) and under the tools/security/zones, modify the settings. It really sucks that Firefox deferred to Windows and IE for this.

I've been using Firefox since it was Netscape ;)

I downloaded and installed a dev build of TabMixPlus, so everything is working now.

I uninstalled Firefox 2.0.0.14. Now running only Firefox V3.0 RC2.

Has that been stable so far? I miss Tab Mix Plus and can't wait for the dev to update it for FF3 RC2.

Well, yes, it has been stable for me so far. However, so far is currently measured in hours. Nevertheless, I have not encountered any obvious errors nor dramatic failures. I expect that TabMixPlus will go GA soon, but if you cannot wait (I could not), the most recent DEV build is available.

I figured that if all hell broke loose, which is not likely by the time software from most companies gets to RC2 status, I could always reinstall Firefox V2.

Here is a link to a source document that describes how to get to the Zones (Control Panel or IE) to change the settings.
